"I wouldn’t have a job for the simple reason that there’s no work where I’m from. I was a car mechanic in San Salvador, but the money I made was simply not enough to feed myself, my wife, and my newborn. If the economic situation had been stable, I would have loved to have my own car repair shop. But it wouldn’t be profitable. People just don’t have money; they drive their cars until they basically fall apart."
