Relics

Relics (2025) is a series of 6 works, inspired by the Catholic Church’s long history of profiting from and commercializing so-called miracles. Each work consists of one of the stones used in the How To Perform a Miracle performance, cut into several fragments and finished with a layer of gold leaf. The gilded shards echo both the transformation of relics into commodities and the paradoxical, modern image of a Jesus Christ associated with luxury and excess.
